Terms of Service

By creating an account or using the URLCheck browser extension or this website, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service. These terms form a binding agreement between you and URLCheck.

URLCheck is a browser extension that displays the destination URL of the page you are visiting in a large, configurable on-screen bubble. It is designed to help people, particularly those with low vision or who find the browser address bar difficult to read, know where they are on the web.

The extension shows you the URL as reported by the browser. It does not judge whether a URL is safe or unsafe, and it does not filter, block, or warn about any destination. Use of information displayed by the extension is entirely at your own discretion.

To use URLCheck beyond a guest preview, you need an account. You sign in with your email address. No password is required. We send you a single-use magic link each time you sign in.

You are responsible for keeping access to your email account secure. Do not share your magic links. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at support@urlcheck.app.

One account per person. You may use your subscription on all of your own devices; sharing an account with other people is not permitted.

New accounts start with a 14-day free trial. No credit card is required to begin the trial. During the trial you have full access to all features of the extension.

The trial begins the moment your account is created and ends 14 days later. At that point, if you have not started a paid subscription, access to the extension is suspended. You can start a paid subscription at any time during or after the trial to restore access.

The trial is offered once per person. Creating multiple accounts to obtain additional trial periods is a breach of these terms.

After the free trial, continued access requires a paid subscription. Two plans are available:

• Annual plan: billed once per year at the discounted annual rate. This is the recommended plan for most users.
• Monthly plan: billed once per month.

Current pricing is displayed on the Pricing page of this website and within the extension. Prices are shown inclusive of any applicable taxes where required by law; otherwise taxes may be added at checkout.

One subscription covers one person on all of their devices. There is no cap on the number of devices you may use simultaneously.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual) at the then-current price for your plan, unless you cancel before the renewal date.

You will be charged using the payment method you provided at the time of subscription. Payments are processed by Stripe. If a renewal payment fails, Stripe will retry according to its dunning schedule. During the retry window your access continues. If all retries are exhausted, your subscription is canceled and access ends.

We will give you reasonable advance notice of any price increase before it affects your renewal. Continued use after the price change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new price.

You can cancel your subscription at any time from the self-serve billing portal, accessible from within the extension. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current paid billing period. You retain full access until that date. No partial-period refunds are issued upon cancellation, except as described in our Refund Policy.

Canceling a subscription does not delete your account. To delete your account and all associated data, use the account-deletion option in the extension's settings.

You agree not to:

• Use the service in any way that violates applicable law or regulation.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the extension beyond what is permitted by open-source licenses where applicable.
• Attempt to circumvent the subscription or entitlement system.
• Create multiple accounts to obtain additional free trials.
• Use the service in a way that interferes with or disrupts our infrastructure.

URLCheck and its content, design, and software are owned by or licensed to us. Nothing in these terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the extension for your personal, non-commercial use while your subscription is active.

The service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any defects will be corrected.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, URLCheck is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, revenue, or profit, arising out of or in connection with your use of the service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising under these terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email and post the updated terms on this page with a revised “last updated” date. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. If we discontinue the service entirely, we will provide reasonable advance notice and a pro-rata refund for any unused paid period.

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which URLCheck is incorporated. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws in your country give you additional rights.
