Quick-start guide

URLCheck makes website destinations large, clear, and easier to review, so you can notice confusing or look-alike web addresses before entering passwords, payment details, or personal information. It does not guarantee that a website is safe.

  1. Visit the official website

Open your desktop browser and go to www.urlcheck.app.

Use only the official URLCheck website or an official browser-extension store listing.

  2. See what URLCheck does

Watch the short animation and review how URLCheck enlarges the destination address in a high-contrast bubble.

A link can be fake, and the browser address bar can be small or truncated. URLCheck makes the destination easy to see.

  3. Choose your browser and install

Select "Add to your browser" or the button for your supported desktop browser. On the store page, choose Add, Get, or Add Extension, then approve the installation.

URLCheck needs access to the current web address so it can display that address clearly.

Seeing a caution prompt in Chrome?

New extensions show a “not trusted by Enhanced Safe Browsing” notice for their first few months. This is normal, and it applies to about a quarter of all Chrome extensions, including well-established ones. URLCheck is safe to install, so choose Continue (or Keep) to proceed.

  4. Pin URLCheck to the toolbar

Open your browser's Extensions or Add-ons menu, find URLCheck, and select the pin or toolbar option.

Keeping the icon visible makes it easy to open settings, display a URL manually, and manage your subscription.

  5. Choose your preferred settings

Select Automatic, Manual, or Pinned mode. Then choose the URL detail level, bubble size, screen position, and light or dark theme.

Start with Automatic mode and Domain Only for the simplest first-time experience.

  6. Test URLCheck

Visit a familiar website or open a link. Confirm that the URLCheck bubble appears and that the destination is easy to read.

Try changing the bubble size or position. When uncertain about a page, click the URLCheck toolbar icon to review the current destination.

  7. Subscribe when ready

During the trial, open URLCheck and select the subscription or plan option. Choose the monthly or annual plan and complete payment through the secure billing page.

Your subscription supports continued browser compatibility, maintenance, customer support, and product improvements.

Before entering sensitive information

Pause and read the destination shown by URLCheck. Look carefully for unexpected spelling, changed letters or numbers, unfamiliar domains, and misleading words such as “secure,” “verify,” or “support.”
