How it works
Every time your browser goes somewhere new, a bubble reveals the real destination in large, clear text, so you read where you're actually headed before you trust it.
URLCheck displays the destination immediately when a page opens, before you enter a password, payment information, or other personal details.
A phishing example. An email claims to be from PayPal and links to PayPal. When the link opens in the browser, URLCheck reveals the real destination, paypa1-secure-login.com. The message claims to be from PayPal, but the real destination is paypa1-secure-login.com: the "l" in "paypal" is actually the numeral 1.
It earns your attention. It doesn't demand it.
The bubble appears when your browser genuinely navigates: a typed address, a clicked link, a redirect. Scrolling, watching a video, or interacting with the page does not trigger it.
In automatic mode it fades on its own after a few seconds. You can also dismiss it instantly with the Escape key, or close it with the × button, without losing your place on the page.
You control what you see
The popup covers display mode and detail level; the settings page adds size, position, and theme.
Detail level
Show just the domain, the domain plus its first path segment, or a little more of the path: as much or as little of the address as you want at a glance.
Size
Scale the bubble from small to large so the text matches your vision and your screen.
Corner
Place it top-left, top-right, bottom-left, or bottom-right, wherever it sits best for you.
Theme
Follow your system automatically (the default), or lock it to a light or dark theme, whichever reads better on your setup.
When it shows
Automatic on every navigation, manual when you summon it from the popup, or pinned so it stays on screen: as present or as quiet as you like.
Mark trusted
Tell it once that you trust a site and it stays quiet there from then on.
